Bought my truck about 3 months ago. About 2 weeks after I noticed it seeded to loose some of the umph it had, Took it in and the dealer said "oh no, no problems, must be bad fuel". I said ok, ordered some gauges. Finally got them in and low and behold the fuel pressure at idle was 6, cruise it would go to 2-3, floor it and the bottom dropped out of the gauge.

Took it in, finally they agree it needs a lift pump but now I am getting the "we have to check with Dodge and then they ship it to us". I asked why, the Cummins shop 2 street over has them, go get one. His reply, "can't do that, we have to go through Dodge, too many are having to be replaced for some reason". :--)

So now I wait while my truck is sitting in the shop for them to fix a problem that should have fixed 2 months ago.....

Not happy about that, but at least I am getting a new lift pump (I think)

Roy

I did it myself in 2 hours with a pump from Cummins for about $140. BEATS the crap out of not having my truck for 2-3 days.

Welcome Aboard Roy! You should get a postcard soon announcing our Mid Tenn TDR chapter getting started. A handful of us are already hanging out and pulling trucks. We shoot the breeze at:

Are you a Columbia native or an import? I lived down there years ago. My buddy runs Jim's Auto Parts on North High St. His name is Kenny, Jim is his dad. He's a Jeep Waggoneer guy. They carry Hastings filters (good) and do brake and flywheel resurfacing as well as custom hydraulic hoses. They carry some industrial/farm filters too.

Come on out to the meeting. It's a breeze if you come across 396 (saturn pkwy) to 65, north to 840, 20 miles or so, then off at 41/70 Murfreesboro. 41/70 is Broad Street, Hooters is on the left about 3 lights into town.

Wade, I have already checked into getting one myself and putting it on. The Cummins shop has them but they are 179. If the dealer can't get it tomarrow I'll just pick up my truck and do it myself.

And thanks for the welcome, been lurking around for a while. I'm a transplant to Columbia, been there almost 4 yrs now. I'll try my best to get to the meeting.

This may have turned out ok. The dealer called me back and siad they did have one in stock and they put it on. I picked up my truck, my pressure is no a soild 15 at idle, 12 cruising, and 10 WOT. .

It seemed to me to have less of the high pitched rattle, and idle was much smoother. Pickup has improved greatly.

Oo.

Needless to say, I am a happy driver right now.
