Has any "Doityourselfer" out there added aftermarket or OEM cab clearance lights to their 2500?
Was the wiring harness allready in the roof?

I can't see myself drilling holes in my roof yet, but I am thinking about it... Thanks, MH

the easyest way to add clearance lights may be to just add a visor with the lights in it. the lights hook to your light switch.

Don't have answer to your guestion but do a search. A little while ago several people added clearance lights and said it was a piece of cake. Only problem was building nerve to drill the holes!! #ad

You might wish to check the style of light in this kit. When I purchased this part number it came with Peterson 120 series lights. I believe these are the "old" style lights.

You can find them here:

http://www.pmlights.com/

Thomas . . you're correct . . that is the old style.
www.mopar4less.com There is a 1-800 number posted. Tell them you want the new "low profile" light kit for the 2000.

There are several good posts on this topic . . even recent ones. Poke around . . I'm sure the new style kit number is posted.

I installed mine . . less that 2 hours . . instructions are complete . . drilling template is a piece of cake to setup. The hardest part was positioning my stocky self so I could drill those friggin center holes.

Good luck
Michael

When you pull the headliner down, you will see a reinforcement rib running across the roof. It will have 5 1" holes in it and that is where the lights go. You won't need a template, just get a 1" hole saw, and drill straight up through the holes in the rib.

It is not a 1" hole for the "old style" light kit so, measure twice, cut once... check the size of the hole before you drill... blah blah blah

Hay Guys:

I installed the Mopar kit on my truck. Dropping the head liner, drilling the roof, instlling the lights, running the wiring were all cake. About two hours with a couple of beer breaks worked in. #ad

Then, I spent another two hours trying to stick the little wire to acitvate the lights in the back of the fuse block. Haven't seen anyone else posting having problem with this though.

They shore due look good!

Wire Dawg,
Where did you get the kit?
My dad just bought a 2001 Dodge without and the dealer told him to add them on would be $400. 00 (their cost).

Mine were added on. No problems. Less than 60. 00 from a dodge dealer. Looks good.
