add on uconnect question

My dads 05 2500 has the factory uconnect and it is so sweet. I dont have it in my 05 3500. I see I can add it for about $275, but it doesnt have the mirror mounted controls. I can buy a take off uconnect mirror for $40. Will it work with the add on uconnect and if so what wiring harness will I need? What will the harness cost? Any installation tips?

My Power Wagon did not have the u-connect installed as a factory option, but I got my dealer to throw it in as a deal maker.



Essentially, when you buy the u-connect from the parts dept, you get all the necessary connecting parts. I do not know if you can buy the wiring pieces separately or not.



I had the installer remove one of the heated seat buttons to install the u-connect piece that usually goes in the mirror. Everything else is neatly hidden except for the microphone which is neatly tucked to the drivers side of the over-head console. The final install looks great and works flawlessly. I can easily reach the u-connect buttons on the dash.
