I can't see where that would really do anything helpful. It may not do any harm if you only leave it in for a few minutes of engine runtime immediately prior to an oil change, but I seriously doubt it would have any "cleaning" value.

I wouldn't do it.

nope

I sure wouldnt do it, good idea and intentions though, im highly suspect on additives although i do use the Lucas oil treatment, and yes it has always made a difference in my diesels... . jeremy

just stick with what works and youll never have to worry :)

wheeewwww

Makensmoke, thanks for the info (although i dont want to mess up this topic for VHolloway) All i know is that it works and ive drained the oil with the truck on the lift about 30 sec after shut down and i dont see air bubbles, so  my dad has used it (TSearls) and it has been proven in my eyes... . i dont know partner??????... jeremy

I'd rather throw a quart or two of clear kerosene in to clean it up.

BTW I never used anything but Rotella in my truck and when I did the KDP I pulled the front case cover off. It was just about spotless inside.

I don't see the need to add anything to the engine oil to "clean things up" prior to an oil change. If you are using quality oil, changing it regularly, and allowing the engine to come up to full operating temperature before parking the truck, you won't have any sludge buildup and shouldn't have anything to "clean out". Not to mention the fact that if you are successful at breaking the stuff loose all you will accomplish is clogging your oil pump pickup tube in the bottom of the oil pan. Just my 0. 02 worth.
