Anyone ever done this? My buddy is thinking about doing it, and he wants to put it ont he passenger side of the truck, in the same location as the one on the driver's side. Looks like it only needs a bracket to be made, and a means to hold it together. Anynone ever done this? We are planning to get rid of the stock filter box, and install an air inlet hose off of a 1994+ Ram. A K&N RE-0880 filter will be installed.

Several of us have installed second battery on drivers side. I used two OPTIMAS with a manual isolator for the second battery so I can leave my electric cooler on all night and not worry about a start in the morning. I gave out a few drawaings at May Madness but don't have scanning ability. Send me a SASE at 8305 Olivine Ave, Citrus Hts, CA 95610 and I will send you one. It is a nice looking installation and gives me a good nights sleep!

I do not know if the "92 layout is different, but on my "93 I just reworked the existing battery tray, and put a second battery there by rotating the batteries 90 degrees. I did that back about '95 so I don't recall the details, but it was easy enough.

Hey Evan!

Check out the "Best of Board Archives" for the 'First Generation Forum'. Rick Dusch authored an excellent thread titled "Dual Batteries" (3/10/2000) complete with photos of his dual battery installation and really cool 4 wheeling pictures of the West.

Check it out!... ..... Keeno

Evan - There was a topic on this before (maybe on cdw site) and there is a company called NW something that handled auto electric parts and one of these parts was a 2 battery replacement tray for the 1st gen Dodges. Sorry I can't rememeber the co. name.

Evan,
Check out http://www.wranglernw.com. They have kits for installing a second battery in the First Generation Trucks (as well as others), plus a good selection of "electrics".
