Like I don't have enough projects already......

I am attempting to add Hands Free Bluetooth phone control to Hoopty, should be the same as factory and will use the cars steering wheel controls, microphone and car audio when finished. It will not support music though. Already have a donor module from a 2011 Impala. We'll see if the adventurous few on the Cadillac forum are right about this.

I will document this with photos as this applies to a lot of GM stuff in addition to the Cadillac line.

Crawling in the trunk shortly......

Pressed for time tonight as usual, seems to be the new norm...

Anyhow, I have pictures that I will attach when I get time but the short story is this...if you have a GM vehicle from 2006 (maybe even earlier) thru 2010 that is equipped with "OnStar" AND the little talking head (mute) button on the steering wheel you can add factory BlueTooth that will allow the vehicle to pair up with your cell phone for the hands free experience. The vehicle will use the built in mic and radio speakers as the newer models do. Hoopty even slows the blower motor down while a call is in progress.

Pretty cool upgrade for short money. All you need is a "VCIM" (voice control integration module) from a 2010 or newer GM vehicle that has the bluetooth capabilities. Mine came from a 2011 Impala wrecked in NY state. $90.00 and worth every damn penny in my opinion. Plug and play, I kid you not.

Will add more as time permits.
