2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission Adding Keyless remote

Does any one know if it would be easy to add keyless remote on a 98 model?

I added an alarm system that came with keyless entry on my 96'. Bought it from Crutchfield.com.

My 99 did not come with the factory alarm and keyless entry option. One of the first mods I did was buy the factory alarm kit from a Mopar dealer and installed it. All the wiring was pre-made and connects just as if it were installed at the factory - works great, but took quite a while to install. Not sure if they are available anymore, but I would check into it before buying an aftermarket system.

I have seen them advertised for the diesel 5 sp, but I cannot remember exactly where. I am guessing they must have a sensor for the park brake. Given that I live in a cold climate and have had problems with brakes freezing, I won't set my park brake overnight. I would have to go out and set it anyway, so I figure I might as well just start it while I'm out there.

i repalaced my factory keeyless with a $110 one from circut city. it came with a remote start and keyless entry. it has a feature for a turbo cool down. if you activate the parking brake (get the light on) and then take the key out you can set the amount of minutes you want it to run to cool off. i like it. i reused some of the relays and such for the factory lock unlock. it took 5 hours but the power went out that night too... . it rea;;y wasnt that bad. and the remot really does work from about 500-700 feet away.

Wow, that is wonderful news for me! I had assumed that the only solution was to get the parts from a junkyard.

What model or name brand did you purchase from Cicuit City? That sounds like a good deal. Did they install it?

i put it in myself. took awhile but i got it. they have the electrical diagram on their website. problem is i cant remember what it was my key fob only has a 1-800 number. its 1-800-421-3209 i tried calling but they are closed. i will try to find the manual

Price gone up to $120. They have one installed for $199 too, not sure which one I want worst. The turbo cooldown function is of interest to me also.
