In my earlier request I had not looked at sag2's listing of error codes but have since.
The list for P0107 says "manifold absolute pressure sensor low"
Now I ask, can anyone tell me how to fix that?

Also, I did not identify my rig very well so I will do that here.

Plug it in? You probably disturbed it doin the valve job.
And then disconnect the batterys, ground the leads together to discharge all an everything inside the trucks brain and reconnect.
More then often that does the job, its a hard reset.

I seem to be my own worst enemy on this job.
Followed your suggestion and checked the wiring, disconnected both batteries, grounded the leads then reconnected them.
Started the truck and the check engine was still on. Since the code says there is a malfunction at the MAP sensor I went ahead and removed it to check it out. It is spotless. No soot or debris on it anywhere. Reinstalled the sensor and made sure the connector was fully inserted and locked.
Started the truck and found I still have the check engine light along with a "service 4 whl drive sys" notification. Also the 2whl, 4Hi and 4lo selector on the dash are not working. My "old school" brain can not see any link between the MAP sensor and 4 wheel drive system.
I've had good success maintaining all the mechanical aspects on this truck throughout the 16 years I've owned it but these electronic gremlins are beyond me.
Any chance you could shed some more light on this problem

Thanks==Ed
