Looks like WIX is now offering their version of the frame mounted separator for the 2013+ RAM 2500, 3500, 4500, and 5500 trucks:

Obviously.......one has the option of sourcing their favorite WIX distributor (NAPA???) although this seems to be a fairly recent release and there may be none in stock at NAPA.

I would use caution with Wix fuel filters, they are known for not meeting the OEM ratings on filtration.

Wix also will not disclose their fuel/water separation rates, not a good sign when their published filtration data falls short of OEM.

I would contact Cummins. If the filter does not meet their requirements you may be denied warranty for a fuel related issue.

GENO's has Raycor at $55 and Mopar at $60, no brainer as to what I would buy!!!!!!!!!

Thanks for the pic. I would NOT use a Wix filter ever again with the WIF threads at the bottom. The Wix filters are known to leak there and that is a "get out and walk" event when you are sucking air there on a lift-pump-less Duramax. Worse when the dealer says the 'WIF just falls out of them for some fleets customers adding a tow bill for them', sells you a AC Delco filter, and lets you change it in their parking lot.

Wix is the only "defective" fuel filter I have ever had to return for a refund.

I know the newer trucks have a better filter setup now, but I went with one of these kits a few months ago on my 2015 and love it. I got the kit with the Racor water separator. Filter changes are only about $70 and take 10 minutes without even opening the hood. It's a no-brainer to me.

Sometimes you can find the Mopar/Fleetguard filter sets on Amazon for as low as $75, but usually closer $90. It sounds like you saved a few minutes per year in filter changes and a small payback after a few years.

After several filter changes on my '15, I don't find it that bothersome or difficult. I think the stock setup qualifies as a "no brainer".

I went to your supplied link,found it very interesting how it recommended it be removed before attempting to have any warranty work performed.Even Gale Banks will make an attempt to help out a customer instead of recommending removal of his product

Uhhh....pretty sure you misread it there Bubba! Might want to try again. It says absolutely nothing about being "recommended it be removed before attempting to have any warranty work performed". It simply states that it's completely removable within minutes for guys that are still under warranty if they prefer to pull it before going in. We all know that dealers can be very anal about anything you have added to your truck when it goes in for warranty and they can use it as an excuse to worm there way out of covering it. They simply give the option for you to remove it, so their are no questions or traces of it ever being there if you so wish. You sir, by misreading that and giving it your own interpretation are what makes forums like this so confusing for people that sit down to research things and find them selves two hours later getting up more confused than when they sat down. Get your facts straight before commenting for the world to see......

Easily removed for those still under warranty in not one but two places. Tells you all you need to remember. They quote dealer prices for factory replacement but want the purchaser to install the kit and then change the filters at home. If I'm capable of that I'm not paying the dealer to change my filters in the first place. How many changes will it take to break even for the kit and subsequent filters at today's stock filter prices? There's a Bubba here somewhere but not where you called it.

No Bubba, your ignorance is now showing, because they actually don't advertise the kit for "better filtration". They advertise it to help you save money, and if you do currently take your truck to the dealer, to make it easy for you to do yourself and save some money. It's actually in the very first paragraph if you would like to go back and reread it also to be more accurate. Like the other Bubba above, get your facts straight before confusing everyone doing research on a particular subject! This is the biggest problem with these forums. They are great resources and I love and participate in them , but a lot of guys talk out there a**es and don't get the data correct or have real-life experience. They are simply relaying information wrong they have read from somewhere else.
