On another board there is a huge thread about MMO and Powerservice, combining the two and using it as an fuel additive for enhansed lubrication, fuel mileage, and injector cleaning.

It all sounds good but I want to make sure that it won't cause any harm. I've been running straight #2 for the first 5k miles and no problems execpt for a batch of fuel with water in it (but that's another story).

I am a convert and a believer now. I have posted before that I use PS Kleen and MMO mix in every tank for the last 25,000 miles now(3 parts PS / 1 part MMO - 16oz in every fillup). I can not say that it actually improves mileage, but it does make the engine idle and run smoother and quieter. The additional lubrication, injector pump and injector cleaning potential is enough for me. I don't worry as much about getting a bad tank of diesel now. At 33,000 miles my mileage is better than ever.

JVOLPE,

Where did you get your grille from? I like the lower part where the tow hooks are. That is what I really want. Looks great!

The bumper insert is made by Precision Grilles( www.precisiongrilles.com ). It is polished stainless and matches the grille inserts. I made the modification(cut off one end of each bar) to fit around the tow hooks. I bought mine through local 4wheelparts store, I think the bumper insert was about $85-$90 and the grille inserts were about $125. They have been on for well over a year now.

Thanks for the comments.

As for POWERSERVICE> Should I be using the one in the Gray bottle or the White bottle? They have both at Wal-Mart and are the same price. . Thanks :)

I use the grey bottle Power Service Diesel Kleen. This has a little more cetane boost and no anti-gel. The white bottle contains anti-gel for the hard winter guys and a little less cetane boost. Either one would work.

I also found the same results with MMO. . quieter engine idle, i have been mixing MMO. . diesel Kleen, powerservice, and have used a new diesel injector cleaner that i picked up from walmart some time back but that was with a fresh tank of fuel. .

But the other stuff, i dump in on a regular basis, had the lift pump go 2months after picking up the truck was covered under warranty. . 112000+ miles later still going no problems and the truck is still stock. So to each his own but these engines will burn it as long as it has lubricity and is NOT GAS. . You figure 34gal of diesel with either a 16oz or 32oz bottle of MMO minimal ratio there. . I don't believe in the science of it as some have broken it down before i just know it works and has with that mileage and no problems. I know some guys use 2 stroke asheless oil in their fuel fillups also so like i said the engine will burn just about anything just make sure its something that will help lube the pump instead of seizing it up.

Thanks!!!!! Im going to get the MMO to add with it.

I've been useing power-service/MMO combo for about 20k have 47k on truck now. I use 16oz PS and 8oz MMO per 28-31gal fillup. If all I can get are quarts it makes it real easy to dump half a bottle of PS and the MMO bottle has 4oz marks on the bottle. I don't personally pre-mix too much handleing that stinkin' PS. A word to the wise DO NOT store PS in the cab the stuff really stinks and lingers, my tool box in the bed would be a paint huffers dream! :-laf
