Anyone know if tweaking the timing can increase the MPG? and if so what is the recommended setting? See sig for specific truck...

Yes.

15. 5°-16. 5° should work nicely. Anything more than that... and you're too advanced for the amount of fuel you're pushing.

Pullers routinely run 30°+... . but they change headgaskets more often than you change oil.

That's my $. 04 worth...

I set mine to 15. 5*.

I noticed a slight improvement in milage(if I keep my foot out of it)

about 2 mpg!

I borrowed the tools and followed the hynes manual.

It was not that hard to do.

I just had my timing adjusted to 15. 5. There is absolutely NO lag betwen my foot pressing the pedal and performance. I can't speak to the MPG effect yet. I also had the valves adjusted and the cat removed. It just feels like a completely different truck. At 60 MPH, it turns about 1600 RPM now.

Didnt notice any MPG difference when going to 15. 6 but EGTs are down a little and it pulls better at higher RPM and not as good under 1100rpm
