Appears to be 150 in the 2000 fsm
[h=5]150,000 Miles (241 000 km) or at 150 months[/h]
  • Change engine oil and filter.
  • Adjust valve lash clearance.
  • Replace fuel filter.

You adjusted my valves at about 100,000 miles or so. Now I have just over 200,000 miles. Should I have them adjusted again? Going on a vacation pulling my 5'ver for a month or two. Truck seems to be running fine.

I have almost 120,000 miles on truck. At what point do I need to have valves adjusted?

My information from my 2002 owners manual agrees with Bob4x4's 150,000 miles (or 150 months) from the 2000 FSM.

When you do finally make the adjustment, you will probably find that they are within specs and you will just need to fine tune them.

It always amazes me to see how little engine wear occurs for the amount of work these engines do.

Agreed. Its best to give them a check at about 100k-150k miles, but you'll find they're really close to spec. Doing them again will probably prove pointless too but maybe take another peek in a few hundred thousand miles if you want. :)
