Last weekend the wife and I where coming back from Sams Club and I ran over a Rot and Bull Dog mix @ 65, one minute clear road; the next, bam there it was and it screwed my alighnment up bad, so I took it in to get re-alighned. They told be that I need to buy a adjustable ball joint to get it back where it needs to be. Now are they blowing smoke out my you know what, or is there truth behind what their saying? Oh, the ball joint is $150 dollars and labor is another $90... It was out 0. 27 the best the could bring it back to was 0. 24... Just wanted to see what ya'll had to say about this. Get a second, third, fourth, etc, etc... opinion... Thanks  04' 3500 4x4 DRW...

What's out of adjustment? Toe, Caster, Camber?

I'm guessing they're talking toe or camber.

The only ball joint I'm aware of that lets you adjust anything is a slightly modified 2nd gen ball joint, which can apparently be ordered to give some caster offset from left to right.

Perhaps someone else will chime in? Sounds bogus to me.

Thanks Red360, it kind of sounded fishy to me... When it comes to engine work, I'm good to go, but suspension stuff for get it...
