My neighbor saw our new truck with adjustable pedals. We were wondering what kind of trouble, if possble, it is to have them installed? Thanks.

jungledave,

Our 04. 5 CTD was ordered from the factory with the adjustable pedals. My wife is short and I am of normal height. This is the first thing she adjusts when she drives. I'm not sure what the adding of this feature consists of, but its much easier when ordered from the factory in assembly.

I wish the clutch was seperately adjustable from the gas and brake pedals. They're seperate motors... not sure why they're on the same switch.

PM me if you want to know how to do it. It cost me $250 for the parts, and took a few hours to do. All the wiring is already there, so its almost a plug and play situation.

Much nicer with the adjustable pedals now.

There not separate motors, its actually one motor, with 3-worm drives moving each pedal. You can make them separate to a point by disengaging the gas and the brake, and moving the clutch pedal then rehooking the drives back up.

Couldnt that be done with wiring in a toggle switch also?

Tim I adjusted all my pedals to the perfect spot for myself. I posted a thread a little while ago.

Pedal problem

Medical supply stores sell pedal extenders for the clutch and brake pedals. I got one for $45 for the clutch. My wife is short and can't get the clutch pedal to the floor without twisting her body. Brake and accellerator were fine with seat adjustments. Just the clutch problemT he extender works great. I have no problem using it.
