OK Experts;

Here is a question for you. Is there a way to change the clutch engagement at the pedal. My clutch engages at the last 2 inches of travel. I want to have it somewhere in the center. Dealer says live with it. Is there a way to change it. I understand the clutch is hydraulic, but there has to be a way to change the position of the pedal to activate the clutch?

Thanks guys.

Dealer is right, clutch isn't adjustable though I have heard of people modifying by welding an extension on the release fork.

Just for kicks, and this may make it worse, but have you tried bleeding the system? You may have a very minute leak, or somehow got a small air bubble. Other than that, it'll take some extensive modifying.

This is one of those cases where Dc just got cheap. There is no adjustment rod on the cluster master. It SUCKS! On my last car both the brake and clutch masters had threaded rods that allowed for pedal height and detent adjustment.

So make yours adjustable it's not hard to remove them from the truck, and a few min to cut the rods in half, thread them and install a threaded collar and a few lock nuts!

Everything I've read in the Hayes manual for our truck says the clutch hydralic assembly isn't serviceable: it is a closed system so if it breaks then you have to replace the whole thing.

What ever happened to the user friendly vehicles that were easy to care for and adjust to our personal liking? It's just like computers, they want your fingers out of their programming.

I think you could also adjust it by lengthening or shortening the rod from the slave cylinder to the arm. In your case you'd need to cut a little length off the rod to get it to engage sooner in the up travel.
