Adjustment procedure for linkage rod

That threaded rod that snapped was on the back side of the cam from the throttle pedal wire. I have a new rod and need to know what it does, and adjustment procedure. Looks to me like it might be a kick down. Will go down and investigate further, but thought it might be wise to get this thread started . It always makes things much easier. Thanks RJ

If it's like my '95 then there is only one rod in the area. It goes from a lever on the bottom of the linkage with the throttle wire to a lever near the back of the fuel injection pump. This rod has a couple of bends in it to offset it because the lever on the pump is not as close to the engine as the forward linkage lever. This rod does NOT adjust idle speed. The correct adjustment is so that the ball that the throttle cable hooks on to is five inches from the verticle part of the back of the bracket. Nice picture in the service manual. This adjustment is made with the threaded part of the throttle rod you are replaceing. This adjustment is so that the TPS will have some chance of working right.
