Competition Ball-bearing turbos in sled-pulling?

I just wanted to publicly thank jtisdale for his invitation to my first truck pull this past weekend. His sage advice made my 1st place possible (sorry Jim). Honestly, if he hadn't lent me the advice he did, I don't think I coulda done as well as I did. So here's a huge thanks to Jim.

Seriously, that was a text book pull! I think I will start calling you "The Prodigy" from now on. Like anything else you do... its all or nothing.

I'm really happy you came down and pulled. Hey, I dont mind taking 2nd, I'm kinda used to it. :-laf Did the video come through ok?

We'll "hook" up again one of these days. Oo.

Where was the pull? What were the full results?? I would expect nothing less than that from Jim he will help anyway he can. So there is a new sled pulling duo in the Bagderstate??? Keep up the good work!!!

I've seen Aron on a dyno and I've seen Aron pull a dyno but never a Sled.



Congrats. I Know you would come to Osceola if you weren't already plenty busy that weekend at Goerends. Maybe I'll see you there.

Craig, the pull was at Lancaster. Only four trucks showed for the heavy class. Chris Hall called, but I wasnt home, and by the time I got him on the phone, it was a little too late for him to come up. I'll do battle with him next weekend at Mineral Point. :{



Yes Gene, I was passing on the advice you and Rob have given me, along with a few things I picked up right after I pulled. I jumped on the cb and told him the track wasnt as tight as it looked.

There are a handfull of pulls out Gene's way this coming weekend. Maybe if enough people show up, Genestock will be brought back to life.

Ya the Goerends event is the same weekend. That is why a few of us are pulling that Friday night, we are going to my house after the pull then leaving from my place to Iowa in the early AM.



So far for those staying at my house are Turbo Tweaker, Diesel Tim, Josh Peters, well, and myself. Always welcoming more to stay if you want. I know there are a few of guys coming out to watch us break stuff... ... ... ... ..... like Josh, he is always good for a laugh. :-laf



Josh I still have a hard time understanding how you knocked yourself out. When you came too, did you say "ow thats gonna leave a mark"? Do you even remember riding in the truck last night?



Congrats Aron, wish we could have seen ya join the clan on the 10th. So shall see ya on the 11th... ... ... ... later "dude".



Aron, BTW twins on my truck are no longer an option, but a must. Those injectors are moving some fuel, and if I do decide to turn the Comp on, all I hear is the flame passing the through the turbo, and all I see is a cloud that could produce a tornado behind me. Ask Josh... ... ... ... if he remembers. . :eek:

There is no way I will be able to go anywhere, but to Goerand's. Reason being that I have way too much stuff to get ready for the event. So no choice. I can't go to any of the pulls (my Mom even invited me to the Osceola pull).



As for my pull, once Jim gave me the track conditions, I went in to 4th-low and gave her the beans. The truck was moving pretty good with my EGT's hitting levels I rarely see (1681 was the peak). After 250' I started to get worried that I'd damage something. Not to mention that the turn in the track was coming up. So after a second or so, I decided to shut it down. The flagman came up to my window and told me, "Ya kno', you didn't have to stop. " I replied, "Yes, I did. I was getting scared. ":D It was good enough for the win. I think I had another 20' or so left in the run, if I woulda had the cohones.

Hey now! I remember everything from last night... except the 1/2 hour I was knocked out! :confused: As far as leaving a mark goes... . when I came too... I got up looked in the mirror... realized that I can't get any uglier... and went back to work. :cool: (I have a nice mark today) ;)



For anyone that might want to try..... I don't care what kind of trans you have... do NOT pull in reverse!

PS. Beware Gravity works, and hanger bearings left unsupported will swing in a full circle unless your head is in the way! :( :rolleyes:
 
Well I donno about the beer yet... I'll have to try that after my transmission is back together. Women... . well some of them look better! :rolleyes: Oh wait..... that may not be a good thing! :{ :-laf
