Advance auto parts clutch

Has anyone tried one of these clutches? If I understand there website correctly they have a conversion from the dual mass flywheel setup. A friend of mine is looking to replace his but does not want to spend a fortune on a clutch. Advance shows theirs for $400 some bucks.

Cheap parts are never cheap. Advance Auto Parts is probably selling cheap ChiComm parts. I recommend you factor in the cost of the Advance Auto parts plus labor to install plus the eventual additional cost of buying good parts from SBC or other reputable retailer and the labor to do the second time.

X2... I still remember the first time I bought a waterpump from Kragens Auto Supply for my 1968 Plymouth. Kragens, at the time in CA, was the first chain auto supply store that offered a "lifetime warranty" on many of the engine parts that they were selling, and they were cheap to boot. I thought that it was a great deal until just after I finished installing it and started the engine... the brand new water pump had a bad bearing in it. Kragens obviously replaced rthe punmp under warranty, but I was stuck with doing the job TWICE, which no longer made it cheap or convenient, and I was still unsure as to how long the replacement was going to last!!
And that was just a water pump replacement, not a clutch job...

My recommendation to your friend is the same as HB... buy only quality parts from a reputable manufacturer and do the job right once.

I live by the rule of "nothing that moves" when buying parts from the "chains" (AA, Azone, Kragen,pepboys,etc) Life time parts=Life time labor :-laf
