Hello everybody. I just had my injector timing set to 1. 4 and I noticed a drop in my boost. It's down to 27 lbs. why is that??

any of you ever had this happen?

the truck seems to pull harder and quicker but what's the deal with the drop in boost? should i ad more fuel?

I could use some input here. Thanks

Not sure about the boost drop but you can add fuel as long as you don't have an EGT problem. The guy your beating won't care if your boost gauge doesn't read what it used to as long as it goes. :D

Thats a strange one to be sure. When my timing was adjusted I saw absolutely no drop in boost. I did see an improvement in engine 'smoothness' , less smoke, and some engine response increase... but certainly no drop in boost.

I've read and been told that when the timing is set one of the fuel lines may need to be bent slightly to get at one of the mounting nuts. This can interfere with throttle travel (I think thats what it was).

Have someone depress the throttle, or use the throttle cam and slowly cycle it to WOT and see if there are any indications of the throttle being limited from full travel. If so, this will result in lower boost due to not reaching WOT condition. Failing that drop a line to Piers Harry and see if he has any thoughts on this one.

Just a thought.

Regards, Bob
