Should I put it together before or after Having it ceramic coated? I would have them mask off the tight fit area but I was thinking it may rust and show later on, So what will happen if I use Anti Sieze to put it together and they cook/clean the Anti Sieze out?

By the way this is not the newest version that ATS Diesel is selling, Its the old ATS version that is not put together.

if its assembled and the antiseize cooks out its no big deal. If you get it coated unassembled and need to smack it around to get it together will it damage the coating? If you could get it lined up exactly where it needs to go I wouldnt hesitate getting it coated post assembly.

Absolutely assemble that thing BEFORE coating. Those manifolds have a steel to steel fit that seals when the parts swell together (few . 001's tolerence) you will not be able to get it back together after coating, that stuff is thick.

THe HPC shop can tape off areas you dont want coated also. They may want to do that instead of trying to coat it as an assembly? I would call and talk to the coating shop to see. I am a huge fan of HPC high performance ceramic the company, there stuff last along time and keeps its luster even under extreamly hot conditions. Our shop uses them, and I see turbos with 100k miles (talking gas engines :) ) that still look like chrome. Jet Hot burns off.

Yes they can tape it off Im not worried about that Im just worried that right where they tape it off that it will rust later on.

I use Air Born coatings in Oklahoma and have had good luck, It looks to me like they use the same stuff as HPC. Do you think HPC is better then Air Born? Just curious if maybe I should change companys.

Never used them? I have just had really great luck with HPC, tim, and time again. We have sent hundreds of turbo parts to them, and they are always buitiful. I can't say that I have even seen one thing come back for coating warranty? Those guys seem to know what they are doing! I don't know of Air Born? They may also be really good? I just know to stay away from jet hot. Jet hot is a great company to work with, but I think their ceramic is not the greatest. Everything I have had done by them has eventually gotton ashey and dull.

Make sure to fit it to the engine with all of the bolts. Don't rely on the stock manifold. Mine was shrunk considerably.
