Advantage of regional or state TDR Chapters

What are the advantages of a regional or state TDR Chapter. I can think of a few but would like to hear from you that have one. Is there anything offically that needs to be done to be called a TDR regional or state chapter?

I agree with Bob Wagner... I have met bunches of great people from several states. We all dig in and help each other with projects, which I would venture to say have saved thousands of dollars in labor for our group.

As far as making our group official, I have not looked into that. I suppose I should one of these days, maybe there are more benefits for our guys!

Well thanks guys for the answers about what I expected. Anymore personal experiences, positive or negative?

Speaking from experience, it is a lot of fun. I started a local chapter in MN but had to give it up when the Army moved me. A group has formed here in central FL and I am involved with it now, but not to the same extent that I was in MN.
Robert Patton has set up some guidelines for organizing a local chapter and you should contact him for that info before you start organizing a club. They helped me locate active TDR members and provided address so I could send folks info about our chapter. Good luck, it is a lot of fun but a lot of work too if you're the only guy running it.
