Hey guys.
We're in the market for a new video camera. Our boy is taking his first steps and we want to share with the family. With the days worth of research I did the other day, my head is still spinning. I'd like a Hard drive camera for the recording time, but hear that the HD cameras are way advanced of the software to edit the footage. I'm not set on a High Def camera, but it would be nice. I guess my question is what would be a good camera that I would be able to take video in low light (like a living room with just lamps or at dusk), be able to edit the footage with a good program, would be compatible with the Apple computer my wife eventually wants to get, and has a hard drive as the recording media? What other options are out there for recording media that are worth using? I've heard that the tapes are only good for 5 or 6 uses and they degrade in quality.
Any info or suggestions would be appreciated. My price range is less than $1000.
Thanks.
