First time to post a question and after searching the threads for injection pump information I wanted to get some expert advice of what pump to buy for my trucks current set-up. My pump finally failed after 273,000 miles and left me stranded on the side of the highway with a '21 enclosed trailer in tow. I was getting 17mpg avg on the highway with a best of 19mpg coming back from SD. Towing is 13 mpg. Should I change injectors, change fueling box, add a Fass, Air Dog, or be happy where I am at? I have looked at the stock Bosch, Hot VP44, and Bluechips pumps.

The truck is my daily driver for my rock engraving business.

Thanks in advance for your time and opinions,

Chris

If you live in a state like california that is now smogging diesel trucks, I would stay away from the hot rod vp44. The pump has a timing advance built into the circuitry and may be picked up by the smog station as an altered vehicle. You can get the same kind of advance with a smarty, and when its time for smog check just reprogram back to stock settings.

Just get a factory SO pump, and yes I'd definately add a lift pump like a FASS or Airdog (if you want filters) or just a Raptor (AirDog minus filters)
