Ok what can I do to keep my cab and shell cool so my dogs can be left inside? I often go to places where there is no shade, and since I almost always have my labs with me - I'm stuck. Does anybody, like frostking or somebody make a cooling setup that'll run independently of the truck and keep the shell/cab cool? Also any idea of $$$$$$.

When we were looking at slide in campers, I spent a lot of time studying evaporative coolers that go in place of the standard roof vent. The advantage over traditional RV a/c was they were 12volt. How about an aux battery and one of these on your topper? Then in the winter you could just replace it with a regular vent. Camping world sells some... . Big down side is it would add about 14 inches on top of your rig.

Take a look at these. . Lot of Snap-on,trucks,farm tractors, and I think I will buy one to put on my 5'er. 'Course depends on the humidity where your at. At around 50% evaporative don't work too well.
