Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) Advice on going to a six speed?

Starting to investigate swaping in a six speed in place of auto. Any and all advice is welcome. Thanks in advance.

NV5600's are getting expensive and parts are hard to find because they don't build them anymore. I know some have started doing G-56 swaps, I think I would look that way if I was going to replace mine.

G56 requires a body lift. I've had a 6sp, and it was nice and all, but I still prefer the 4500

no, a G56 will bolt right into a 3rd gen as far as I know

I've been looking at 6sp options, and right now I think the G56 is probably the best choice, but I'm in a wait and see mode with the sale of Chrysler I'm not sure that the G56 will remain in the Dodge trucks.
