New Truck====> Big Problems!

I would suggest that hasn't put Never-Seize or a similiar product on the hubs of your truck to do so. I have always done that with alloy wheels, but did not do it with the steel wheels on my dually. Big mistake, I rotated my tires Sunday and had a devil of a time getting the inside duals off. Needless to say they will come off easier next time. Best time to do this is right when you get the truck, and for those with a srw it is a good time to put in the rear fender liners and a good time to check the proper torque.

I second what Dean said. I rotated my tires last week and needed a 10lb sledge hammer to get the tire's off. If I ever had a flat somewhere where AAA was not available I would have been SOL.

32 lug nuts - OUCH! After bustin' them loose I'd have to take a barley and hopps break for sure! I agree with you guys- antiseize is the way to go. Some people have argued with me that thread lubricants allow lugnuts to loosen (I don't understand this). I've never had a single problem with properly torqued wheels.

The lug nut's come off no problem, it's separating the rim from the hub that is the PITA. I applied the anti seize to the hub and the rim face where it contacts the rotor.

There was no problem with the lug nuts. I check the torque (140#) periodically. The problem was that the wheel oxidized to the hub where the surfaces met. Once the wheel was off, a little sanding and Never Sieze took care of any future problem.

Drop it a bit harder and/or rock it side to side a bit. (of course you don't want the nuts backed off too much :eek: )
