Dodge or DMax - Which to Trailer?

I'm on the verge of going to work for Chesapeake Energy and one of the tools I need to buy is a new laptop pc. I'm not into the latest techtalk and need some advise.

I'd like to stay in the $600 to $800 range. In looking at the Best Buy flyer in Sundays paper, several including Toshiba, Gateway, acer and Sony are in that range most have 120gb hard drives, and lots of other stuff about which I don't have a clue.

The main use I see the new addition are GPS related, maps, and waypoints as they relate to new pipelines. And of course email, and word.

(Which brings up another thought and that's a gps unit. )

I'll be working out of my truck most of the time if that should be a factor. I can see the need for Wifi and a inverter.

Thanks, RR

Been a few years, but the Gateway PC my folks used to have was a POS.

My brother only uses Mac laptops. He also has a Dell PC. He uses both for work (web designer).

dell has a cool surplus/refurb site but i apparently killed the bookmark after i got my laptop a month or so ago or id post it, the list changes daily sometimes while you are making a decision or researching options the computer disappears, so check it out for a couple days if you have a idea what you want and see what they are going for you know what a deal is

I bought a gateway laptop from bestbuy one year ago and its been a great traveling computer. Zero problems and the only thing I did was tossed a gig of ram in it.

The price was give away at the time at 549. 00

Works great for me anyway.

Hope this helps
