Anyone runing the AEM Brute Froce #AME-21-8206D and if so how do you like it. I looked at the K&N but at $199. 95 vs. $229. 99 I'm thinking the AEM is the better deal. Any input would be appreciated as I’m going to order this Monday.

Installed mine about 1,000 mile ago and so far, so good! :) It makes the turbo sing like an F15, providing your silencer ring is MIA. Some have reported that it pulls down the filter minder, but mine's been in the green since I put it in. I ordered a spare filter so I could slap it in while I clean and dry the other. I've done the "white glove" test down the tube and it comes out clean. Not having to hassle with the filter oil is great! :-laf

I've had a K&N FIPK on my truck for about 25K miles. I got it for a song over the parts counter shortly after I purchased my truck. I like personally the black-plastic look of the K&N, looks very OEM like aside from an open filter at the end. I personally can't say I've noticed an increase in power, but It really makes the turbo-sound prevalent. I personally had the silencer ring out for about a month, but disliked the coarse, scattered sound of the turbo. With the ring in and the K&N, the Turbo whine is more precise and refined sounding and not so annoying inside the cab, IMO it sounds just right.

You'll like it a lot less, when the dealer tells you, that. You'll be paying for that new turbo, because of that LOW filtration K&N :--)

I agree with T... had mine now for six months and love it!

Big Blue is a sharp looking truck T.

Thanks J, how about posting some pix of your rig? I'm saving up for some Toyo's and Mickey Thompsons, but may have to do a little more lift than the 2" leveling kit!

I ordered the AEM Brute Froce system today after leaving my Dodge Dealer and talking with their mechanic. He told me not to use any filter that you need the add oil too as you will void your engine warranty. He claims that the oil is being sucked into the Turbo and causing them to grenade and this will not be covered by DC or Cummins. He went on to say as along as your filter is a dry system you will be ok. So anyone with a filter that requires you to add oil to it, you may want to contact your filter manufacture and see what they have to say. Thanks for all the replys :) JMO

Correct me if I am wrong but isn't the AFE Pro-Guard 7 also an oiled element . That being the case it filters to 99. 5% efficiency. Does anybody know what the factory filters to?

Troy you can order it unpolished with just the plain old aluminum finish, that’s what I ordered. All you need to do is use “C” instead of “P” at the end of the part number. The AEM Brute Force was an oiled filter then they swiched it to a Dry filter type.

Get an AFE Pro Guard 7 systems and get flow and stop the dirt at the same time!

Mark @ DPPI

Come on Mark, play nice! Does DPPI happen to sell the AEM? :{ I thought not! Let's be fair and read all the posts on the AEM Brute Force before we drive a stake into it's heart over one guy with a perceived problem! :-laf
