I installed my Aeroturbine yesterday, bought from DPP. I was not to happy with the package. No instructions, no placement information and not even a mark on the muffler which side goes forward. I assume the louvers in the muffler go forward on the engine side, correct?

Other issue, I had to do substancial cutting, trimming and measuring to make this system fit. They provide you with two hangers only. I would think that for the price we pay for these systems they would provide us with a little more hardware and literature for these units. For me the Muffler is disappointingly loud at all Rpm's. I expected it to be loud at WOT but I was told it would be moderate or better around town driving. I will probably add a freightliner muffler to this unit, as of now I feel I waisted $400 that could have been better spent.

Aeroturbine

Machine Mover, Sorry to hear of the problems you are having with the Aeroturbine. I was thinking of putting the same system on my '03-3500-SWR-6-sp-4X4-QC. If you are in the Phoenix area or nearby and you wouldn't mind having me listen to your system, I would appreciate it, very much. Thank You. Joe Fihn (602-978-3111)

machinemower, what all did you get exactly? The Aeroturbine and intermediate pipe, or a whole system from downpipe to tailpipe?

If I'm not mistaken my Aeroturbine was marked Inlet, but it seemed straightforward (the rounded side of the internal doughnut is the inlet end).

Give Dave a call at DPP and he'll help you out. I tried an Aeroturbine alone but it's way too loud. IMO it's not a muffler replacement unless you want real loud. It sure sounds rad though. I put a 4" straight-thru muffler on mine and it sounds good now.

I have found mine to be quiet civil except 1900-2100 rpm under a load, then it is real loud. I am working on trying to get it tuned. If I could get that blasted honk out of it I would be satisfied. Progress is slow, but it is getting better. If I ever get this beast tamed you guys will be the first to know. Looks like most on this board are having similar problems with other brands of exhaust.

Same problem different day

Good morning guys, I have been searching high and low for muffler for my truck. I think I am going to buy the aero turbine for mine to see what it sounds like with my after market muffler. I don't think that it is going to make me totaly happy but that is going to be my first step. I have a 4" stainless system from turbo to tip. I have found a couple of mufflers for my system but they are all aluminized. I hate to have to put an aluminized muffler on my system but if that is the only option I will. I think that if I put an aero turbine and a more restrictive muffler I will be happy and still keep my EGT's down.

I will also keep every posted to what I do.

Machine mover,

I just put on my aero flow muffler, and of coarse it had no instructions also, This is something that could be fixed with 10 minuets on the computer. Why they don't do it,who knows. Poor customer relations I guess. On the box the muffler came in it said how the muffler should be placed, but it was more confusing then need be. The muffler itself looked nice, polished finish and all, but while they took the time to stamp there name on it, they could have also stamped " IN", and "OUT" . If you look into the muffler, the side where exhaust can go around the core goes to the front, or is the "INLET" side. I am afraid it you put the louvers to the front, your muffler in on back wards. Also I do agree for what this thing cost, instructions and band clamps should be standard. I only went with this muffler as an "experiment", I have a DRONE at 2000-2100 rpm that I was trying to diminish, or get rid on. I have not been able to run my truck since the installation of the aero muffler,I am also working on the suspension. But I will post once I can tell if it has helped or not. Good Luck

Well I guess I may have this on backwards , I'll have to check this out again. I will be in Phoenix on Monday If "Buffalo" wants to look me up my cell is 928-279-4224.

Well just turned the Muffler around, I can't start it up though because I was changing the oil at the same time and wouldn't you know my daughter took my wifes car to work, and the oil filter is in the back seat! Hmmm just have to wait until tomorrow. I couldn't get the muffler seperated from the connecting pipe so I had to just switch the whole thing around. Now the muffler is located where the orig. equipment muffler was. We'll see what she sounds like tomorrow, my suspition tells me there won't be much difference but time will tell.
