I want to shake the guy's hand that came up with the idea for the AT muffler. I finally got the replacement pipe I needed to remove the Banks muffler from DPP (thanks Dave and Jeff). The Aeroturbine had already been installed 12" behind the downpipe. With the Banks muffler out and just the AT in place, all I can say yesssirreeee!!!! Listen to the beautiful music! It has a sort of distant, mild rumble at idle then passes through a little (very mild) drone and mild bark from about 1300-1600 rpm's (just enough to be satisfying) and then it's smooth sailing. It's not intrusive in the cab at all. It sounds excellent!! SOP feels a little stronger now. Before it was almost like the two mufflers were buttin' heads a little or something but now---------well I'm all smiles! Oo.

Oh yeah I almost forgot, my Banks muffler is for sale for anyone that's interested. It only has about 1500 miles use on it and is of course in excellent condition. New retail price is about $270. 00 for anyone thinking of making an offer. I figure about half that amount would be a fair price to start. What do y'all think?

I see you have yours close to the down pipe and I have seen other people that put theres up close to. Is there any difreance between placing the AT close to the turbo and placing it further down say like where the factory muffler was like I have on mine(seamed the easyest way to do it with the factory pipes)?

Just wondering

I too went with the AT muffler, I installed it 24" in front of my HOG muffler. It did help quiet the thing down, and removed most of the drone. It has a different sound to it, had to describe. There is a rumble there but also a hissing or rushing sound, kind of like on a jet. Like I said I installed mine in front of my system muffler. I have a 4" SS Hog Performance exhaust system. I haven't towed with it yet, but I can tell that when you get on it, it has a rumble. All in all, I like it, and it did what I wanted.

Even the Dealer thinks it's cool

Had the transmission fluid changed at the dealer recently; Service manger handed me the keys and said that's a nice truck and gotta really good sound. I smiled as I handed the keys to my wifes and siad" it's her truck. " you couldn't have slpped the smile off her face. That AT sounds really cool.

Smartineau... ..... haven't towed a thing with it yet. I couldn't tell ya but I will say that it does bark a little through the gears btwn 1300 & 1600 but it has a WONDERFUL distant kind of drone (out back) at about 2000. Basically it has that big, sort of airey/pipey open pipe sound (like the gorgeous Marmon & Western Star I saw the other day) without being obnoxious. It's like relivin' my truckin' days without the bad memories. Go to aero-turbine.com and listen to the sound clip. It's very close except an example of the 13-1600 bark isn't in there. Don't worry though, you'll like that part too! It sounds GOOOOOOOOOD!!:D
