Today I took the AFC Housing off. When I had the hsg turned upside down I noticed the lever that comes from the bottom. is cut on a angle. Is this normal? Why?

Thanks

Chuck

Yes that is normal. I believe they do that to try to keep the afc from rubbing on the cam plate. (if you look at the governer lever

you will see that it is cut at an angle to match)

Afc housing

The AFC housing sits on top of your injection pump and controls the air to fuel ratio when you accelerate. The afc housing has four screws that secure it in place, loosen them up and slide that housing all the way forward and you will notice a big difference in the way your truck will accelerate from a dead stop. There are other adjustments that can be made also. Look on TST website they give a step by step instruction on how to adjust your afc housing. Oo.

nfox, thanks that sounds fairly easy to do. Do I need to do anything else or can I just move that plate forward to try it out?

When you move it forward does this give more fuel and will it cause the egt to rise?

You have to remove the anti tampering screw first, but you need to do that anyway when you put in your new fuel plate.
