Where to learn about VE pump?

I did a little bit more investigating the noise on my truck today after I changed the lift pump and KSB sensor. The heavy rattle is at exactly 2200 rpms but only when I am at full throttle all out pushing it to the max, it is at about 25 PSI boost. If I drive it normally without pushing it, it sounds normal. I don't think it is carbon in the cylinders due to the fact that I can run it at any speed from idle to 3,000 without load in nuetral and it is as quiet as can be. I have to think it is a hydraulic hammer in the injector lines or injectors or possibly in the pump.

i just bought a custom afc pin in which way do you put the taper i assumed toward the front of the pump since thats where the small pin strikes it am i correct?

i have the full load screw turned in as far as i can without it making the engine idle too fast with the idle adjustment set as low as it can go are there any other adjustments to increase the fuel i also have the pod injectors it still seems that the power is low but this is my first with a ve pump is it possible to get around 300 plus horses out of my present setup i also have an hx 40 turbo i plan on installing the engine in a second generation truck if i can get it to run like my p-pump engine it was around 300 or so horse thanks for the reply mr. leonard

You can turn the fuel screw in indefinetly. That is to say untill the governor lever over-rides the governor flyweights. You'll know when that occures.

Remove the pumps throttle lever as shown in the sticky thread up top our first gen forum page. Cut/grind/modify the lever to allow the lever to rotate towards the slow speed adjusting screw.

You will also benefit from increasing the distance that throttle lever can rotate towards full fuel. This is about a seven step process. Study it and you'll right away discover about three or four methods to gain more top end with throttle linkage(s) adjustments.

... and yes there are other methods to gain more fuel. Most are located internally of said pump. Simple engough to do.

I have been running Lucas fuel treatment at 4 times the amount the bottle says for about two months and no change. Also my engine doesn't shut off like my two buddies trucks. Mine shakes the whole truck pretty good instead of just stopping instantly. Maybe related to the detonation noise??
