Thats right, boost pressure would not be able to move the diaphragm against spring pressure and move that AFC foot out of the way of the governor lever. The governor level will not be allowed to move full forward and contact the fuel plate.
somebody did a crappy repair on one of the lines to the afc so it was leaking boost and not allowing proper fueling, i was only getting around 5 psi of boost and no power, fixed leak and jumped to 16# of boost
Do the AFC diaphrams have a habit of failing. Trucks with 250K miles, 12 years old, are they highly likely to fail? In other words, is this a preventive maintenance item.
