Chuck,
Check these things to help low end response:
1). AFC housing slid all the forward, towards the front of the engine.
2. ) AFC star wheel moved towards the front of the engine. Less tension on the spring.
If the above are OK,
The screw on the back of the AFC housing is the No-Load Fuel screw. There is a 10 mm lock nut and an allen head set screw. Turning the screw in pushes the AFC arm forward. More pre-boost fuel. Unless this screw was backed out at one time, I doubt it will make much of a difference. Try a 1/2 turn or so in. You will reach a point when turning it in further does not make a difference.
