I installed the softer of the 2 springs that comes in the spring kit. I now have some hesitation before boost starts building that I did not have before, and not quite as much smoke . I thought before I swap to the stiffest spring I would get some input from some of you guys. I have the #5 plate in the stock position. With the stock spring and the screw that is located on the backside of the housing backed off a couple of turns, the truck really run good, which I will go back to if the stiff spring does not help.

jpearson,

If the no-load fueling screw (on the back of the AFC) is just touching the diaphragm, like the instructions say to do the truck will be FLAT at the low rpms.

Turn this screw in a turn or 2 after it touches. You know you have gone too far if the exhaust starts to smoke black at low rpms, exhaust smells rich, and acceleration does not seem to improve.

Make sure the AFC star wheel is fully retracted (toward the front of the engine)

It should go like a rocket after these adjustments. :D

Hemi-Dart the fueling screw was set as you described, I left the soft spring in and tightened it 3 turns past where it touched the diaphragm and got the results I was looking for, it got rid of the hesitation and it does smoke more but not too much. Thanks for the info.
