Looking for some feedback from you guys using aFe air filters in the stock airbox. I know they are suppose to be "better" than K&N, but how do they compare to Amsoil foam filters? Any of you been tracking oil analysis silicone results comparing the aFe air filter to your previous filter? Do these filters require the sealing grease on the airbox lid like the K&N's? Are the aFe's serviced the same way K&N's are?

I will probably just run either a aFe or Amsoil filter in the stock airbox until I can sort out which aftermarket air system I want (Mega Cannon, Psycotty II, etc). I've been using the Amsoil for a few years on the '95 Ram, but considering other options for the '02 so any feedback on the aFe air filters will be appreciated ;)

I am running the Afe in the stock airbox and I love it. It doesnt even compare to the Amsoil. When you see and feel this filter, it is pretty stout and well made. Very well constructed. It does not require any sealing grease and I have found no evidence of oil residue in my intake hose. My IAT sensor was perfectly clean also. The filter is serviced similiar to the K&N but with Afe's recharge kit. Maybe the same stuff as K&N and labeled differently, but I would use the oil meant for it. Just my opinion but I was impressed when I received it. :D :D
