My Mag force and TAG are both on the way. Should I install them both at the same time? Unfortunately I do not have any gauges!!

I know most feel i should install them first but I do not tow. But i could record MPG's and if it feels any different. I DONT KNOW IF I CAN HANDLE HAVING PARTS IN THE SHOP AND NOT INSTALL THEM. I guess that is the Tim Taylor in me. :D

I have the aFe Magnum Force PG-7 and am agonizing about getting the TAG, please keep us posted on your observatons. Thanks.

from what i've read over the past two months, the TAG does not impress me to buy it, especially at the price they want. the testimonials are average to just above average in passion for the product. if it sold for 35 to 50 bucks, i might consider it.

lil red I purchased the TAG because it made since to me. While working on helicopters & Allison Engines I used what is called an intake plenum. This did the same thing the TAG is claiming to do and kept any Large debris out of the Compressor intake. The allison turbine and my turbo suck air the same way.

The only real difference I have seen that the TAG makes is when towing heavy. On hills when you start losing momentum (and RPMs) the boost stays pegged at 22-23 psi, therefore the EGTs don't climb as high. Before I had the tag when the RPMs fell off so did the boost, and the EGTs would climb. I think that those who tow would be pleased with the TAG.

Ditto pretty much what fireman said , plus when running"empty" on the road I noticed that my boost reading does not swing as much( holds more steady). Whether or not that is good or not who knows:rolleyes: !

the technology has some relovence it has been use in mass air flow sensors for years to smooth out air flow so the computer can measure the air more accurately. As far as what they are claiming i dont know. ok now what is the diamerter of the tag they are selling and does anyone have an old MAF sensor?

I didn't notice much of a SOP meter change in performance when I put mine in, but then anytime I took it out I noticed my engine lost its responsive edge and seemed a bit sluggish. I put it back in, zippyness came back, took it out and throttle response was softened.

It's staying in. It's pricey because it's not easy to manufacture, Dave worked on it for quite awhile before he came up with something that worked well. If he could make them for less and still recoup his investment I know he would, but he worked on this for quite awhile before getting a product that worked well. The first one I tested was plastic with square holes, that one didn't do much at all.

tag

Anybody notice a mileage increase while using the tag , that would be the main reason I would want one.

No one really notices much mileage improvement empty. But everyone I have talked to notices between 2 and 4 mpg with a big load.

Thanks for the great info. I remember now reading about this product and was wondering if it would be that much help. I may invest in one soon. Planning on some power upgrades , Edge or TST and anything that will help keep turbo temps down interests me. I tow a little heavy sometimes as my 38' Hitchhiker , actually 39' 3", is nearly 15,000# empty with 18,000# GVWR.

CAKUZ, get rid of the factory muffler and think about an aftermarket air filter setup (running aFe Magnum force on mine) this should drop your EGT's at least 200 * in most situations !!

Just had a nice chat with Car nut57 at DPP and I ordered a TAG for my truck. I don't expect miracles, but I do feel that after talking to him and others that have the TAG, it will be beneficial towing.

Do you have to run the silencer ring with the TAG? I know there was discussion about this before, and I don't remember. I removed my silencer ring... but I guess I could re-install it.

Also, for those that are running the TAG, how loud/quiet is your turbo compared to a stock 3g without the turbo silencers? I really like my turbo noise!

The folks at DPP suggested that I leave the silencer ring in. I will leave it alone, at least for now.

I look forward to hearing your report on the TAG Dean. Are you going to get the $50 eliminator pipe from Geno's?

I am not going to put the eliminator pipe on at present. I will post any changes in performance or economy that I observe. I do not expect much when not towing and my next trip isn't until April, but it is about 1,000 miles each way and I should have a pretty good idea of what the TAG and the aFe Magnum Force PG7 will do at that time.
