AFE Drop In Air Filter

I know that there has been some concern in the past about using oil saturated air filters. Cummings does not recommend them. I finally had a chance to pull the AFE air filter and air inlet tube to the turbo after 1 years use and was real pleased with what I saw. The vanes were clean. The filter was some what dirty. I used compressed air and blew out the filter. Should be good to go for another 20,000 miles. Just thought that I would let you guys know what I found out.

You shouldn't blow out an oil saturated filter. Wash with water and reoil.

I forgot to mention that when I blow out the air filter I use around 20 lbs air pressure. Just enough to blow out the bugs. I have used KN filters for years on my gas burners and that worked okay for me. After doing that a couple of times then I wash out with soap and water and re-oil.
