Truckin' for Kids

Possible sled pull on 4th of July?

Wow... ... ..... where to start?

It was a VERY busy day, and I think all in all, it went pretty well. It was not without problems, and we will take these things into account when planning the next one. Yes, I did say next one. We should have another AFE day before years end... :)

LOTS of new faces, and trucks coming in from as far away as Phoenix!! We had at least 100 people, and more than 50 trucks- it was hard to count but I put it at more than 50, making this our largest event yet. Let's pony up and get your registration in for the Foothill Ferstival in July!!

I want to thank each and every one who attented for showing your support of the group. With my daughter being ill these past couple weeks, I needed help, and got it.

Thanks to the following for their help. There is NO way today would have EVER happened without these fine VOLUNTEERS help:

  • Bob Goodwin - Coordinating the event
  • Gary McDonnough - Registration Coordinator
  • Jake Debrodossian - Registration Police
  • Ramon Perez - My Pre-Dyno Checking/Event help buddy
  • Your chefs - Doug Mosher & Lynn Wendlandt -THANKS
  • Joe Wee - My food runner and mexican chef ;)
  • Fred Danner - The usual lend a hand guy

If there are more PLEASE let me know, I was running around trying to be your fearless leader  ..... I want credit to go where it is due.

Just so you all know?? Joe Wee did NOT get to Dyno his truck because he was busy chasing down more food for everyone to chow down on. SO- he gets to be FIRST in line next time. Joe- My apologies, and thanks for your help.

And, most importantly?? Advanced Flow Engineering. If those of you who were there could not see the compassion and love for what they do, you're BLIND.

  • [*]Nick Niakan

    [*]Paul Hardley

    [*]Michael Quinn

[*] Dyno crew- Erick, Jimmy, Sal

Just so you know?? Some of Nick's crew were there not because he paid them, because he didn't. They were there because they WANTED to be, and because they love their job and wanted to help us out. Due to AFE's generosity, we were able to raise more than $650 today. (Before expenses).

So- thanks to everyone. I'm tired!!!!!

Your "fearless", "power hungry" Leader... ... ...

I wish I could have come, but had to work. Does someone have the results for everyone that got to have a run on the dyno?

Man I had a good time!!!!:D The guys at Afe are real cool and they love these trucks as much as we do. That was great that the hosted an event. What happened Kev? We were just a few diesel geeks a year ago and now we turned into the Kewlest club in town!! It was great. Thanks to all the fellas for putting on a great show. Thanks to Al ( especially his better half ) for letting me take cuts in line to get out of there early. I made it home with about 30 minutes to spare before work. I put up pretty good numbers for a stock truck with and EZ.

255 HP

586 TQ

I'm sure next year will be a little more generous with the numbers;) ... ... I guess well see then.

Greg

Thanks to Kev, his support staff & all the guys at AFE for a great event! I had a great time seeing the guys from SoCal Rattlers again and meeting new people. There sure were alot of nice trucks, I was drooling over, at the event.

I thought my truck would dyno a little higher in the HP, but was a pleasant surprise in Torque. Stock 03' HO with AFE7 air system and Volumizer box: 334 HP/728 TQ

Nice numbers - very close to my similarly equipped '02 - wonder if you do any towing - if so, will be curious as to how long your clutch will hold up - mine made it for about a year before slip-city... ;)

Gary, I tow a few times a month, just a bobcat skid loader and a 4 wheel drive diesel ditch witch... . so nothing super heavy, but am looking to buy a 5th wheel soon. I have slipped my clutch once I was in 3rd gear (6spd. man. ) and a ricer wanted to play, so I stomped on it and it wasn't pretty... my clutch slipped bad. I have had this truck 1 yr. and have 23,000 + miles, the clutch slipped about 3 months ago, and hasn't slipped since... but I know I have a southbend in the future!

YUP - the same miles on my truck - hitting the GO pedal in higher gears down at 1600 RPM is BAAAaaaad! ;) Any more, even empty, I can't run the Comp above 1x3 - SBC, here we come! :)

I had a great time meeting everyone for the first time since I'm a new guy. Thank you Kev, the guys from AFE, and everyone else that helped get this event together. I'm looking forward to seeing you all again at future meetings.

BTW the truck ran great and did 345 HP and 898 TQ.

Boyd.

It was great seeing all the guys and gals. I promise to try to not break my toy before the next event. Thanks AFE and all their people. What a nice facility AFE is. Some nice smoke and numbers on the dyno.

BBQ!!!

Had a blast especially shagging down the food...

Kev, next time you'll need 3 BBQ's going and 7 packs of Patties @ the very least, there will be more people next time I guarantee that, And I'll bring about 10 Kilos of Asada and Sausage.

donations will be accepted and this time a real head ct.

I dont make a Ton of $$$ like DAVID SHERMAN...

Or even better yet, lets have a poll on what to serve Asada or Dry Burgers??? I can get a deal on the meat, Buddy has a carniceria (Meat Market) It may be a little more Jack but... We'll ask for everyone to make an honest/decent donation or charge per person a small fee, but it will be well worth every cent,

Tortillas Salsa, home made not (PACE) smashed tomatoes:(

and Coronas. just kidding...

Its a pleasure to be involved w/such wonderful people all around us...

Regards JoeWee:cool:

Thanks

Thanks for a great time.

My 2003 HO stock truck ran 260hp and 510 ft/lbs.

I have an appointment to run again once I get the proguard 7 and torque tube installed. I will repost with those numbers.

Hey TUva are you the black 4x with the burnt bumper, if so we are neighbors. I live in Camarillo, there is a few of us over here in Camarillo, we cruised out there together Sat. If so and you plan to go to the next event lets hook up and convoy. Later Dwayne

PS also let me know where you guys camp so I don't camp near you and get my truck burnt up also. :D

Greg... I am glad you got to work Okay and on time! Wife gets a little board at these events, unless there are some wifes there! As a result she wants to go home as soon as we can!

Kev... you need to get the guys to bring along the wifes! I am sure that together they could find something to do.

We had a great time (at least I did anyway), the food was good (I did notice the wife chowing down so I guess she was happy). As usual the fearless leader did a great job, with the help of his assistances... can't for get them! Glad to see that your daughter is doing well, hope to see her at the next event.

Even though my baby was stock, I was not that disappointed! Sure it didn't make bellowing black smoke or sound like a big rig. . but it did okay. How I have some idea of what I need to do!

Those are nice numbers! Good thing about buying used is that you can blame any cosmetic problems such as melted bumpers on the previous owner. I still want to see the dyno chart and those chevy pic when you have time. Glad you had fun with it.

RE: AFE Dyno day

A big thank you to Nick and crew at AFE for supporting this event:D

It was great seeing every body again, also seeing some new faces. Hope to see every body at the next event.

Hay carnivalworker Joe,

Its not that I make a ton of $$$, not that it is any of your business but its what I choose to do with it . I like playing with my toy truck, Its one of my hobbys, and theres many guys that have spent a lot more $$$ then I did on there trucks.

Now you for instance like to spend your $$$ on FOOD and all you have to show for it is the S@%t at the bottom of your toilet;)

Hay buddy Know hard feelings :D :D
