2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission Exhaust hanger question

My '01 24 Valve CTD has a DTT rebuilt trans in it for towing my 5'ver and it seems to be fine. There will be a time in the future when I will have to replace DTT's old torque converter. I have used AFE a number of
times and so far have not been disappointed. Was wondering if there is any body who has used AFE's F3 Torque Converter and what is your opinion. AFE seems to have a good engineering department and from my understanding do a good job in field testing there products. Would appreciate any opinions, good or bad.
Thanks
Gary

Not at that price, way too much for some questionable design. Are you running a triple disk now? How heavy are you GCVW?

I would go with a Goerend 900/400, either single or triple, depending on your tastes. I think Dave probably has probably exceeded the engineering and design work Bill started many moons ago.

Thank you. Last year I thought I needed a new Torque Converter and in looking I found Goerend trans has a very strong following. Since he is a trans specialist his design maybe superior. I didn't know that there was still some quality singles out there, thought everybody had gone over to triples. My '01 2500 still pulls fine and the max weight of my 5'ver is 13,000 lbs but I seldom get that heavy. Just those long hills do take their toll. I would now probably go with a triple for some of the steep hills I will be facing. The rest of the trans is heavy duty with a 4.10 Dana 80 in the rear end. What's your opinion of the triple for my situation? Once again, thank you.
Gary

I would drop a single disk 900/400 form Goerend into your trans and not even slow down. With the 4.10's doubt you would have any issues with a single disk with the pressure set correctly. I have run mine at 15-23k coast to coast for 160k at +400 HP and 900 TQ with no issues and it isn't even a really good one. In a 2nd gen the triples work better than the CR's, the shift lock strategy in the newer trucks causes issues. That aside, unless you are always at or above GCVW day after day or competing I would stay with a single. DTT proved a single can and will perform just as well as a triple day in and day out.
