I just installed the afe proguard magum and there torque tube on friday and all I can say is sweet. I defently feel the difference and everyone can hear the difference. Sounds like a jet taking off. I love it. The only part I didn't like is now I race this thing everywhere just to here the sound. I got it from www.proguard7direct.com Curtis there was great. I was leaving for the weekend and needed the filter. Being local he went to afe and piced my stuff up right off the assembly line and delievered it to me. I had it on it 20 min and will buy another one from him for my dads truck.

Hey, I was wondering about the torque tube... isn't that basically just a short piece of 4" exhaust pipe with a 90 degree bend, powdercoated with a 90 degree rubber hose fitting on one end and coupler on the other? Anyone MADE one of these? I could powdercoat it myself to make it look purdy... where's the best place to get the ruber fittings?

AFE Proguard 7 & Torque Tube

I'm crazy about my AFE setup too, I got it from Jeff at http://www.advanceddieselspecialist.com/catalog/index.php?cPath=102 , he beat everyone else's price, Jeff was and is very helpful. :) Call or email him and he'll usually even beat his own web advertised prices. See pictures in my gallery. The Torque Tube is basically a piece of pipe with a 90 degree and a straight thru rubber coupler on it. It was worth the cost as far as I'm concerned. Saved me having to have a pipe powder-coated myself, plus bother with finding the couplers.

I made mine! I got 2-90* elbows and clamps from Air Flow Systems and a straight piece of 4" exhaust pipe, 7" long that I had powder coated. You do have to trim the bottom 90* elbow to seat better on the turbo. It was really easy!

I have the same setup. It pulls nice.

For a small mod, you can feel a difference. I installed the filter first and felt it a little. The torque tube came a week later and really opened up the breather.

I am debating about the TAG next and maybe putting on the 4" down pipe from the turbo.

But the tag seems expensive for that small of a part. Who knows.

I installed my aFe and TT, and didn't notice a big increase in sound. But when I added the dual exhaust, that made a huge difference in the spool up time, and the turbo sound. Still not loud enough to drive me out of the cab, though. Maybe I need a bigger turbo? Hmmm...
