Mine keeps sucking the yellow thingie down too. Even with the boot removed. Was looking at the Psycotty but leary about the increase in noise. I am currently running with a K&N RE-0880 and foam wrap. Chatted with Doug Hofeldt (Air Bulldog Hoods) and he's going to be releasing a new ram air induction system that'll pull air from beneath the bumper. The kit will include a new air dam. The air box will have to be modified, but no holes to cut in the truck. I also spoke with K&N and they will be releasing a new induction system for the Rams. It's in the same product line as their "Fuel Injection Performance Kits". I am also working on a "below bumper" ram air system.

Don't know about Co. but down here when the wind blows so does the sand. A below the bumper intake would be like a vacuum cleaner suckin in all that sand . and if you are the 2nd vehicle in a 2 vehicle procession you will be suckin rocks too.

The first dip full of water will probably fill up the engine. GM used to run the air intake down low to the grill until too many engines sucked in water, including mine. The then mailed out a recall notice to remove the intake from the filter to the grill. They were not turbocharged and sucking the hot air I believe did affect performance. The biggest problem, however was the state inspection stations. I had more arguments with inspectors who did not want to pass them because it did not meet the emissions standards in their books. Some stations never gave in. This has gone on since new. ('83 6. 2 suburban was the last GM diesel - still own it).

I have been playing around with the idea of a semi stack or something like that to get the extra air. A ram hood would be great, but does anyone make one? Under the bumper would not work for me at all, I would loose it in the first day or two of driving on these oklahoma highways and biways. Not to mention down in my pasture where the ruts are 8+" deep right now from the wet winter.

hello fellas, i'm a new member. been reading threads for over a year now. thought what the heck, i've got questions too. great sight for ram diesel owners. anyway... . stock air filter pulled filter minder down a bit after first 5K. opened up box to check, reset it and it never pulled down again. changed to fleetguard AF at 15K, still no pull down. removed air horn the other day because i was getting some kind of flutter/flapping @ 70+mph (2000+rpm's). put my big lips on filter minder, sucked it down and it held. i reckon it works (thought it might be broke), but it doesn't pull down when running. what's up with that? (hope this first post fits the right topic)
