AFE Filters.....anyone use or heard of??

Hello all, I was visiting one of the diesel guru's in town as I begin my quest for bombing, and he suggested I get one of these. He said the brand is AFE, it is similar in appearance of a K&N only the webbing is green. He also said that the engineers who left K&N started this company. He claimed that it flows better than a K&N and filters better. They have a website HttP://www.afefilters.com. Has anyone used this brand or heard of them that can give me some feedback. I have always used K&N on other vehicles and been pleased. Thanks

That exact same question was asked a few weeks back. I have seen AFE filters. Honestly, they are a ripoff of K&N. All they do is use is a different color screening that is slightly heavier (Why you need stronger screening is beyond me, i have never had a K&N "Break"?). As far as better airflow, i would think if anything, they flow the same. Next time i have the chance (and the money) i will bring a K&N and an AFE to the machine shop and flowbench them.

Just checked the AFE Website. Their filters are $30 more than K&N... doesn't seem like such a good deal to switch to an unknown for more money...

I agree with "EMD. " The "AFE Filters" are
nothing more than "hybrid" K&N filters
and IMO too high priced.

I have used the K&N filters in my Dodge
CTD's for a long time and have had no
problems with them.

I just installed the aFe filter in my truck. Yes, I would agree, there is essentially no significant difference between it and the K&N. You can get the aFe at most dealers for around 65-$70. The factory direct website charges way too much. I doubt they are any better than a K$N, they are just another choice.
