AMSOil bypass filter kit for 6.7L

Why doesn't someone build a 12v lift pump?

Hammer- they're SUPPOSED to be dust collectors!!!! :) Aside from that, what caused the less than favorable input? I know the paper isn't 99. 9%, but thought it was better than stock, and flowed better as evidenced by Bob's dyno chart. Really- please comment.

Bob...

Because after seeing the dyno chart it didn't impress me at all. A modest gain of 3 hp and maybe 5tq on the top is not what I would say would make this a good buy.

Show me a chart with back to back runs with the same starting point so we can see what it does both during the run and on the top. Those two differently runs are completely different in their approach and show me nothing.

So with your chart, what did we learn. That by starting your dyno runs at differnt times allows the truck to spool differently and will skew your test results.

As far as their filters, their highly touted, better flowing Pro-Dry S cost me 13hp and the old Mega cannon, which was dirty embarrassed it. I stick by my original comment, that intake will be a shelf dust collector and its no better than anything thats already out there... ... ... Andy

The intake makes the improvement where the majority of diesel owners drive. I think pretty much everybody knows that boost pressure will overcome restrictions:-laf but at what cost to mileage and temps. The trailer towwers will enjoy increased efficiency as well as the guys looking for that last lil bit of mileage. The gains at midrange is substantial.

As far as the dyno runs... ... . explain how you think they are not back to back apples to apples or what ever.

I have never heard any of the AFE group touting the dry as a better flowing filter... ... ... . just for those that don't like oiled units.

Bob, it's seems you're in with the AFE ppl so you may have to be bias but,... . did you ever do a comparison with the CFM or stock intake ? I'd be very interested to hear how this new model compares to the CFM.

You guys obviously dont know Bob very well. . He's probably "forgotten" more about ALL years of Dodge Cummins than most of you naysayers will ever learn.

I, and alot of TDR folks have received alot of help from his experience so keep badmouthing him and we all lose.

I am local to AFE so I have supplied various vehicles that they have used in their r&d.

I tryed to hook up with CFM before it's release but we got hung up in phone tag and I lost interest after it was released to the public.

It did pass the flow test well on the bench I beleive the # I saw was 205cfm @ 1. 5" of water not the #s the adds use.

One of the big issues I have seen with all the aftermarket parts is lower quality or reliability issues compared to oem. Being in the industry for 30 years I appreciate a product that performs and matches or exceeds the oem in durability. This intake has succeded in all these areas.

I have not seen any of the others come out and show any dyno testing or test procedures much less results.

PRout...

No one was bad mouthing Bob at all and it was never implied either,so I am at a loss for where you got it from.

Bob...

Again. .

To say this product is that much better than stock both of the dyno runs needed to be started and finished at the same rpms. Its easy to see that with the second one the run was started earlier and so the sweep numbers are skewed. IF the runs were done back to back and run at the same rpm and the increase was seen, then I would also agree that there is a increase in the mid range power, however, with different starting points there is no way to compare them. Thats all I said, show us two back to back runs, done the same way and I will believe the numbers, but, those show me nothing.

Yes,AFE does tout their Pro-Dry S as their highest flowing filter made.

advanced FLOW engineering offers you a better choice of oil-free filters: New Pro Dry S synthetic dry-media filters. Pro Dry S filters use a revolutionary two-ply synthetic material that is functionally superior to traditional paper media and single-ply synthetic, and easy to service. Pro Dry S dry-media filters increase airflow providing improved horsepower, torque, and fuel economy with 99. 4%* filtration efficiency. Perhaps the greatest benefit of new Pro Dry S filters is the convenience of servicing these oil-free filters. To clean a Pro Dry S filter lightly tap it on the ground, vacuum it, or wash with soap and water. Solvents and oiling are not necessary. Pro Dry S dry-media filters by aFe are now available on all of our popular air intake systems for gas and diesel trucks, SUVs, and cars. Replacement Pro Dry S filters for all air intake systems are also available and sold individually.

Hopefully no one will mind this copy and paste... ... ... ...

No where does it say highest flowing... ... ..... Why do you insist on saying anyone has touted it as highest flowing ????????????

The 2 dynos were done back to back as close to the same as humanly possible... ... ... ... . you have not shown me otherwise.

Bob

Hopefully they'll have one for the 12 valvers because these intakes look a lot better than all the others and where the performance is nearly the same the looks come into play:cool:

The 2nd gen is an early prototype made in plastic for fit and testing only ;)

:cool:Pics of new products before they are released... ... ... ... . how cool is that.

Bob

Bob,

Any chance of getting AFE to incorporate the two tabs into the back of the intake like the stocker has? I'm very limited in choice of intakes because I need the two tabs in order to mount my Glacier fuel filter. Would be great or is it to late?

Thanks,

Jacob
