AFE intake

I was at the local 4X4 parts place yesterday and noticed that they had the AFE intakes for sale. I questioned the lady about the price and was quoted about 1/2 of what I've seen them advertised for else ware. They were asking 135. Should I be getting one if they are indeed that price? What's the opinion?

AFE's mega cannon has a list price of $295. 00 and a few vendors are selling them for around $200. 00. That price would be fantastic if true.

Well, I went to the local 4X4 store and sure enough the AFE mega connon part number 50-10071 with filter number 60-90037 was 135 as the lady quoted me yesterday so I bought it as my finance manager at home said it was alright to do if it was the 135 price. Hope to install tonight when I get off work.

Thank you for the heads up on that one. I called and got the last one she had in stock she is even going to ship it down to Castle Rock for me. Asked her to ship it because I know I cant get up there for a couple weeks and didn't want to miss out on this one. Have been eyeing that setup since they came out but was having a hard time justifying 200-300 bucks for it. Thanks again.

Holy crap.....

I just got back from Abbotsford... . Piers and DTT, and my AFE had arrived.



The pictures of installs DON'T do this system justice. The filter is so much bigger than it appears in any pics. It dwarfs my K&N RE-0880 even with the pre-filter on it. This baby should suck some major air, and should feed my new PIERS NASTY NINE HY TURBO very well. (let's see if you're paying attention) If the mfg. claims are to be believed, then the claimed 820 cfm makes sense.



The quality of every piece of this system is EXCELLENT!!



I got mine from www.mrbobsdistributing.com $199 including shipping. The double boxed package weights 13 lbs.



The price is well worth it..... replacing the stock system would likely be somewhere near or more... .



Goes on this weekend. Going to find a rubber grommet plug for the filter minder hole... . wish that feature had been left off. Although, I might have enough air intake tube to insert if far enough to cover the hole.
