Gauge install questions on a 6.7L

Well i got my Intake installed(one in the title) and it is nice... . Before i got the intake i took the baffle out of the stock intake tube and i noticed a little difference in sound... .

Got the CANNON on there now and its night and day difference... . You can hear the turbo SING now... . LOTS more whistle now. And i did notice the throttle response in there now... . And the Exhaust brake is alot deeper soundin( in the cab anyway)...

I do notice that when using the exhaust brake and you hit the throttle again and it kills the E-brake that there is a sharp noise... . I'm guessing that its the burst of AIR that enters back into the turbo when the valve opens... that would be a guess though.....

Other than that its a nice intake...

I've been looking at this same intake. Could you tell me what you did with all the sensors and such that hooked to the factory air box and tube.

The pics on AFE's page aren't real clear on where these sensors hook back up? Thanks for the post though... that is EXACTLY what I want... more turbo WHISTLE!!!:D

They Hook right back into the aftermarket intake tube..... The instructions are VERY clear on install..... It even has a hole for the crank breather tube to go... . I will get some better pics of my tube and everything here in a bit and post em... . I would definantly reccomend this intake... .

Here's a couple pics of the intake as a whole, installed. i'll get a couple pics of the tube in a bit

Thanks for the pics:D That intake looks good! This will be my next thing to buy. Did you buy from AFE or a dealer? I've only seen one on ebay, most dealers around here are telling me there is nothing out for 6. 7 besides an Airaid? No use arguing with them, just figured I'd find what I wanted on my own.

Thanks again for the pics, it really cleard up my decision on which way to go.

What's the benefit of a Megacannon as opposed to just a plain 'ol Stage II?

It says on their website it fits 5. 9's and 6. 7's.

thanks

definitely not the same between 5. 9 and 6. 7... breather tube and one extra sensor on a 6. 7l. the megacannon is also exactly referred by afe as the stage 2 xp, and they also have a stage 2 cx. the cx has a smaller diameter tube and filter. afe does sell a kit for the stage 2 xp that includes the intake, a pro-guard 7 filter, a pre-filter, and a restore kit... their "recommended selling price" is $500. 00 for this kit, but of course its easy to find them for much cheaper.

Actually this intake does fit the 5. 9L

I have it installed in my '06.

They provide a plug and a cover for the two unused ports.

X2, PB. I installed this intake Saturday evening. It does sound very good. The eb sounds like its sitting in the floor board. I lost that sorry little foam gasket they send and made one out of a extra piece of grommet I had left over. I have one question what would happen if you routed the crank case breather out of the bottom of the pickup and put that plug in the hole there.

That would make the polar ice caps melt faster. And possibly keep intercooler boots becoming oil contaminated and blowing off in 80k. :-laf
