Those of you who have the AFE MEGA CANNON how do you like it? Is it worth the $280. 00? Have you noticed a difference over the K&N in the stock box? Would you recommend a different filter?

yes its one of the finest filters and shield/adapters out there, i used scotty's for a bit but the afe lowered my egts even more and also got more air in! If you drive alot in high dust area's get a sock for it .
 
I just got one a few weeks ago. Really like it. I would not pay 280 for it though. Call around as mentioned above. There is a place here in Denver called 4 To Go or 4wheel to go that I got it for 135. 00 plus 10 for shipping to my house after a heads up from a local fellow member here on the board. Called got the last one and heard after that they took the price up to 180. 00. Might be worth a call. The company is actually in Wheatridge Colorado.

I use the K&N air charger kit just like the mega cannon but they supply the tube between the turbo and filter I only paid $200. 00 for it .
 
I paid $135 for mine. I think they raised the price to $185 now. I actually got a steal on mine. Other than that Piers has the best price.

I paid $200. 00. You will love the AFE, it is a very high quality unit and looks real trick. Early reports indicate that it does reduce EGT's more than the Psycotty and it definetly flows tons more air. In the next TDR there will be an article on filters and the AFE gave the highest hp gains over any filter including NO filter.

I got the AFE filter and mount from Mr. Bob and dyno tested it. Yes, it gave more power than even nothing on the turbo. I expect that is due to the shaping of the air flow. AFE has spent a lot of time radiusing the exit, etc. to maximize flow. The K&N RE0880 has a high flow rating, and gave the same hp as no filter at all. The AFE gave 5 hp more than that in my dyno test. K&N, AFE, and Fleetguard all rate their filters at different restrictions, so they are hard to compare.
