Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) AFE Pro Gaurd 7 Filter

I know by looking at a lot of sigs. that a lot of people are running the AFE mega-cannon. Anyone installed a PRO-GAURD 7 yet? Has it helped with egt`s & performance & who has the best price in a kit form with pre-filter & restore kit? TIA TJMIV

I just installed one but, it has only been a week and I don't have any statistics yet. Although they may be a little tough to sort out. I installed an edge EZ a couple of days ago and have a Magnaflow exhaust to install on Friday - Got a great price form Cons Performance Chips. I firmly believe that the additional airflow improves performance. I got mine from Geno's Garage. The price was good and service has always been tops. I have yet to buy from anyone recommended by forum members and be disappointed with quality or service.

I upgraded my Mega Cannon to the Pro-Guard 7 filtering media. I will never go back. Found sand/dust in the ribs on the intake hose and on the compressor wheel. I can't blame it on the AFE Magnum Flow filter (OE filter for the Megacannon) for sure, but I couldn't find any leaks anywhere.

I think the best price is from Mr. BOB, he is great to work with, and ships fast. Yes the AFE is a very good filter.

yes I have the pre-filter, it's a good idea to have it, cuts down on large dirt getting into the pleats of the filter and also helps to keep water out!!!!! bought my afe 7 from Geno's

I recently installed the AFE proguard7 filter. I am impressed. Noticed better acceleration right off the bat, from my stock box. Now after putting about 1,000 miles on her I have also noticed better fuel mileage. I was averaging 16. 6 mph, which is a combination of around town and highway miles, Now am getting 17. 2 pretty good mileage for a 1 ton with 3 tool boxes and 800 lbs. of tools.
