Does anyone have the Proguard 7 Intake kit?

I've been thinking about getting this and am wondering if anyone noticed any changes, power, mileage, EGT drops, ETC. w/ the kit.

Also, has anyone run this and done an oil analysis? Wondering how well it stops the dirt.

Mine is supposed to be here... like yesterday. if you don't get any responses before mine comes. I'll let you know. I have an EZ on level 6 too.

Just put mine on today. It'll probably be well into January before I have any good info to share, but I will post waht happens. -Eric:)

i think i am going to do something similar in the summer [or when it starts to get warmer outside] but i was thinking of using steel tubing prebent elbows [maybe exhaust bends??] and welding them up to how i want [and use a bhaf style donaldson powercore filter]

I have a pro guard 7 cold air kit in my truck. Prior to that I had a 5 element Airaid cold air system. I think that I gained power with the airaid and lost some power (in respect to the airaid) after changing to the afe. Over all I should be ahead of the game some. I didn't notice any mileage increase and haven't analyzed my oil yet. bit I'm not worried since the pro guard 7 has the highest element count on the market. It does take a long time to warm up with the afe cold air kit. I like the set up of the airaids box better. I think ideal would be the airaids box with the afe pro guard 7 filter. thats my 2 cents.

Check my readers rigs for a pic of the Airaid and my new AFe system.

ProGuard 7 Intake System

I installed the ProGuard 7 Intake System along with the Pre-filter (purchased from Geno's Garage). I also, removed the silencer ring at the time of installation. I'm happy with the performance of this system. The truck seems like it breathes better and get's up to speed faster. It's nothing dramatic, but you can feel a subtle difference. I also, like the sound of the turbo now with the ring removed. There was a post on here awhile back regarding how much better the ProGuard 7 breathed than the stock system. I may be off a bit on the numbers but, I think it was 350 cfm for the stock system and 698 cfm for the ProGuard 7. I had a K&N in my old truck and removed it because it let in way too much dirt. The ProGuard 7 is supposed to be far superior. The Pre-filter is a polyster cover (sock that fits over ProGuard 7). The label says "This unique material contains uniform micron openings that stop dirt or debris . 005" or larger, however air flow will be slightly restricted. " I live in the desert and we have a lot of fine dust in the air. From what i've heard about this filter system, it looks like the answer, to me. Hope this helps. Joe Fihn (Buffalo). Phx, Az.
