Can you all educate me on the differences. Looking at the AFE pictures I dont see how it can seal to only draw cool air from the stock inlet. The Scotty draws from the stock inlet and the cowl inlet for the hvac after you drill the hole? Is that correct? And do you hear turbo whine from your ac outlets? Does one flow more than the other. Last question who all sells the Scotty. Thanks for your opinions. Bill

correct. . and yes the Scotty has bit more noise than non drilled opening filters. . to some their too much noise, I don't mind the sound.

Scotty Air is something I wouldn't be without and lowered my EGT's about 150 degrees towning my 16K 5er and a bit less unloaded

as to who sells them now. . Wildcat Diesel and maybe PDR [Piers Diesel research]not sure about that though.

BTW use your search fuction and read a bunch about Scotty Air,

The scotty is available from Wildcat diesel (www.wildcatdiesel.com ,I believe). You drill a hole into your cowl and it gets fresh air from there, or you have the option to not drill the hole if you dont want the noise. I have heard that the scotty is pretty loud. I dont know if you get the whine in the vents, I think it is just there. One guy I talked to said it sounded like a vaccuum cleaner with a whistle. I personally would go Scotty if it were my truck and I could afford it.

Get the Scotty! You won't regret it. As said before. . it lowered my egt's by 200 degrees towing and the whine of the turbo is just as nice as the smell of diesel in the morning! If you don't like the noise just use the insulation on the firewall to cover the hole.

I ran a Scotty II up until I went with twin turbos. :{ I wish I could make it work with my twins!!! With the Scotty II the EGTs are at least 150 Deg cooler at all speeds towing and the cool down time is alot less(minutes). The PDR twins allow me to run cooler towing than my old set up but it would be even better with a Scotty II!!!

The Scotty II is a great system Oo.
